The Lunch Table | Golden Globes 2013 Beauty Trends

Welcome to The Lunch Table lovelies.

Today I want to talk about the Golden Globes' trends that were seen earlier this week. Per usual, the stars were stunning. A few head scratchers, but that's normal. Let's begin with pictures below.

Let's start off with hair trends. As you can see above there were a lot of deep side parts with the old Hollywood waves. A timeless look that's sure to add some drama. I wouldn't recommend this look on a day-to-day basis, but it's perfect for date night or for a party.

The next trend at the Golden Globes was hair parted down the middle. Flattering on most face shapes as you can see by the variety of women who wore it. It's great for daytime and nighttime, depending if you keep it sleek and behind the ears, or if you wear it glammed up with curls.

The last trend I want to touch on is buns and braids. It's another classic look with a twist that keeps your hair out of your face. Whether worn high or low, messy or sleek, up-dos were a hit at the Globes. This is great for those bad hair days but you dont just want it in a plain ol' bun or ponytail. It can be dressy or casual.

What was surprising to me was the sheer amount of A-Listers who choose to go more natural. I was expecting more dramatic lips or eyes. But this year there was a lot of dewy skin and fresh faces. But don't worry, I'm sure it took just as long to create that 'naturally beautiful' look. This look I recommend wearing during the day or for a date. It's very neutral and enhances your natural features. It's my personal favorite, that no-makeup makeup.

Some stars chose to rock bold lips this year. The color choice was anywhere from deep berry, to bright red, to fresh coral. I find this look best worn with minimal eye makeup. This is great for work or going out at night.

Lastly there were a few who chose to garner the dramatic smokey eye. I'm actually glad not more people chose to wear this and opt for a natural eye. It gets boring seeing the 'sexy squinting' eyes all the time. This look is a nighttime look, so it's perfect for after hours drinks (not so perfect for school or the office). Balance this look by keeping lips more towards the nude side. Subtle lips are sure not to overpower the eyes.

That, my friends is the last of my trends. I hope you found some beauty inspiration for 2013!

Thanks for sitting with me,
